In addition to my in-office psychotherapy, I also provide one on one wilderness experiences. The focus is on deepening your connection to your whole self through connecting with the natural world. We start by going into nature with a question and intention. I support this process that leads to your growth and development on any or all of the following levels – physical, emotional, spiritual, relational, ecological, and deepening your sense of connection with meaning and direction in life.
It is with deep consideration that I make this offering based on what I have found most impactful to my own personal healing and spiritual growth – time and connection with myself in nature. I bring over 20 years of experience developing my own wilderness skills, trip planning, leadership, safety, survival, ethics, environmentalism, mindfulness, presence, compassion, and empathy. My intention is to support you to have a positive experience of developing skills, building self-reliance, and/or having a contemplative nature experience that helps you connect with something greater than yourself.

Practically, I take on the role of your guide and we work together to develop a trip plan and carry that plan out. Part of the trip plan is to consider the intention you are bringing and how that will be an important focus throughout our time. During the time of the trip we consider what arises for you psychologically, spiritually, and from the natural environment (I.E. naturally). Additionally, you will receive offerings to engage in contemplative practices, psychotherapeutic processes with myself, or work on wilderness/nature-based primitive skills such as fire-building or spoon-carving. After the trip we will discuss what you experienced and want to integrate into your daily life.
The level of intensity and or type of trip depends on a number of your personal factors including physical fitness, level of experience in the outdoors, comfort in nature, and skill level with the chosen activity. You may need to engage in training and preparation to eventually carry out your trip if the desired trip does not match your readiness.
Reciprocity: This type of offering does have a cost of my own time and energy and does require payment. Health insurance does not cover these experiences. Cost will be discussed and agreed upon during trip planning.
Range of experiences: Hiking, Nature Walks, Camping, Backpacking, ‘Primitive’ skills, etc.
Getting Started: Reach out to me via phone or email to begin the conversation and we will set up a brief consultation to discuss the type of experience you are looking for.
